muted brutalism

I was looking through some Joel Sternfeld images yesterday, noticing for the first time the muted colours. He is quoted as saying that “a photographer must choose a palette as painters choose theirs.” So I decided to have a little play with the colour creator on my camera, giving these pictures from the Barbican a slightly yellowed, muted filter. The colour creator isn't easy to find or adjust on the fly, but I'm encouraged by these early experiments and am looking forward to playing around a little more soon.

Here's a bunch of pics taken at the Barbican a few months ago, mainly taken in black and white, and with 45mm as opposed to 17mm lens.
